CorBlogURU Live - April 4th Closing Doors?
I was in the middle of working on FJF (freelancejobforums.com) and was looking into some old notes. I came across a steno page with large capital letters underlined “CHECK OUT URU LIVE WHEN YOU BUY THE NEW LAPTOP!!” Apparently the machines I was currently using where not quite up to speed with the newest graphics that where being utilized over the internet, but this new (at that time) Myst Online project was to good to pass up to not take a look see. Well, that was a few years ago, and I’ve sense replaced all of my PC’s and have been pre-occupide with other technologies as “There.com” and “Secondlife.com.” I was in the need of a break from coding and integration work, so I thought “Hey, this is as good of time as any.” So I shot over to Myst Online to check it out. I was completly blown away, I couldn’t believe such a graphic intense and intellegently written game hadn’t gotten more press? This world is not only great for rainy days, but if utilized correctly works wonderfully as a community stop off. As i signed in to my free exploring account I noticed something about closing on April 4th, and I’d assumed at the time it was an update notice as other Meta worlds often do. A few days later as I’m totaly raving about it to my brother (also an old Myst fan), he mentions to me that he heard it was actually closing it’s doors PERMINENTLY?!! Wow, what a shame, there is so much more they can build onto this great game it really seems a shame to see it go. I’m sure glad I came across that note I had written, or I would have missed out on something very wonderful in the history our times. Well, I’ll be utilizing it until then, I guess until April 4th. who knows, maybe if enough folks sign up they’ll be able to continue developing and keep it open? |
